On June 23, 2015, the first hyperrealistic gaming system was released--the NextGen GameStar, renowned around the world for its one most enrapturing game; PixelSky, a game where players could put on a special headset, close their eyes, and open them again and actually feel as if they were their character. PixelSky is an RPG, featuring four warring factions; sentient sea creatures who could also fly called Nerites, massive, savage werewolves called Lycans, a team of a few other species called the Coalition, and fierce, lithe Angels of death. However, in PixelSky it isn't all fun and games...
The program measures the user's aura, or life energy, and adapts itself slightly because of that to fit their desires. However, there was a glitch that this system spun out of control--horrible shadows called Nightmares that take the form of the players' worst fears, and a sentience patch for the Lycans went terribly wrong; no longer content to stay within PixelSky, they scheme to break out and enter the real world--with the sole goal of killing all life on earth.
