Aero washed the last of the searing ointment off the skin around his eye and winced. Nothing he could do seemed to be able to make the throbbing red line go away, even for one day. He hated it. Every time he saw it, the memory of that day seared itself into his cerebellum. He wished he could forget that day, and in doing so, obliterate the scar. Anyway, enough depressing thoughts, he thought, I get to see Junie today. Aero emerged from his car and shaded his eyes against the bright sun. He glanced around for Junie, but he didn't see her. Had she become dishenchanted with his company and left him? He dismissed the thought instantly; it was more likely she simply wasn't here yet. Aero checked his watch. 9:03 read the anamatronic face. The scar-eyed boy leaned back against the side of the theatre. It was okay; Junie would be here any minute.

Juniper closed the door of her volkswagon and took in her surroundings. Of course she had been here numerous times before with her friends, but this time she was going to be alone with Aero. Excited, she tried to find him. It was a Sunday, so, naturally, the theater was rather crowded. Despite this, she spotted him near the entrance and waved, hoping to catch his attention.
Unfortunately, he was looking the other way, presumably for her. Laughing to herself, Juniper walked over to Aero and tapped him on the shoulder. "Hey," she said, smiling. The movie was probably going to start any minute, but she couldn't be sure, and figured it was best to wait for him to confirm.

Aero smiled, the scar around his eye crinkling. "Hey yourself," he joked, giving Junie another mock salute. "Cmon, the movie's about to start." He quickly paid for the tickets, then ambled to the popcorn stand. "Fine with splitting a large?" Aero queried.

"Fine by me," Juniper said, smiling "But if we're getting a large we might as well share with the whole theater. Have you seen how big those things are?" She gestured to the boat-sized popcorn containers displayed behind the counter. She had neither seen anyone order a large popcorn, nor had she ever ordered one herself. Large popcorns were rare and somewhat mystical. Well, as mystical as popcorn can be, anyways.

Aero laughed. "Okay, well, good point," inclining his sense of humour, he added, "Does a medium sound good, or am I gonna have to drag some of my friends along just to finish it halfway?" His green eyes twinkled merrily as he spoke.

"Medium's fine," Juniper answered, laughing. That was a popcorn size she was more familiar with. Eyeing the menu, she added "I think I'll get a small soda, too." She wasn't particularly thirsty, but the menu had made a soda look very enticing. Juniper knew it was just there to get customers to buy more, but that didn't stop her from wanting the overpriced beverage.

The eyebrow above Aero's scar-eye lifted. "But the soda here tastes like crap--I had it one time and almost puked!" The memory was far from pleasant for the boy, but he couldn't help grinning; simply talking to the gourgeous, vibrant Juniper Frost (My girlfriend, he thought with a thrill) made him feel like he was king of the world.

Juniper shrugged. "I think I've had it enough times to be immune," she replied. She had never had any problems with the theater soda, but then again she had rarely had any problems with any food. Maybe she was just immune to everything food or drink related.

Aero smiled. "Okay, suit yourself. Just don't want you to get sick, is all." He quickly purchased the food, and handed Junie her soda. He pulled out his phone to check the time. "Crap, the movie's about to start!"

With a squeal, Juniper grabbed Aero's hand and ran toward the theater, dragging her boyfriend with her. She let go and peered into the dark theater. "The previews are still playing," she laughed, turning back to face Aero "We're not late yet."

Aero coloured slightly and blushed. "Oh. Well, shows what I know."

"We should probably go get our seats," said Juniper, "This is probably the last preview." She didn't know, of course, but she didn't want to make Aero feel bad. It's not his fault if his watch is wrong, she thought, strolling into the dark theater.

Aero smiled at his girlfriend. "Yep, it seems like it." He spotted two seats in the middle of the theater, and started towards them, tugging Juniper's hand gently.

Juniper smiled and followed Aero to the seats. She walked down the aisle and took her seat, sipping her soda as the preview for a movie coming out the next day flashed before her.

"Oh, great," Aero murmured softly to Junie. "My Little Pony the movie. No doubt the bronies of the world will be spazzing about this tomorrow." And, he added silently, No doubt my little sister, which means I'll be dragged along too.
