Tai was stuck at the high school. The bus hadn't come to take her back after Spanish, and she hadn't gotten Nate to sign permission for her to walk back to the middle school yet. So until 2:10, she couldn't go anywhere. Sitting in the cafeteria, she hoped lunch would start soon. Then maybe someone would come, and she wouldn't be kept reading for a while. Although the inscription on the gates of hell from Dante's Inferno was pretty cool, socialising was more educational for her.

Luna placed her lunchbox down at the table next to Tai. "Hi, Tai!" she rhymed cheerfully.
(ew...theres a spider on my desktop trying to steal my cake)

Tai smile, and spoke. "All hope abandon ye who enter here." She quoted. "Doesn't that seem like it should go on the school's front door?"

Luna nodded and added, "And tattooed onto all the teachers' foreheads." She looked around, knowing a few of her other friends had this lunch too. She opened her purse-shaped lunchbox and began happily gnawing a cheese stick.

"Yep. I love Dante Aligheri. Even if it is only a translation. Why can't they teach us Italian in school instead of Spanish?" She paused, then added, "So who else is in this lunch?"

Ari walked over to Tai and Luna and sat down next to them. "Helloooo," she said, dragging out the O. School had been particularly annoying that day, and Ari had been looking forward to lunch since first period. "What goes on?" she asked, swinging her feet back and forth under the table and turning to her friends. |

"The bus never came to take me back to the middle school. So I'm here. How's your day so far?" Tai glanced out a nearby window. "Am I the only one who feels claustrophobic in here? It seems so crowded, and there isn't even everyone here yet."

Luna shrugged. "I'm used to it. And fine--except I'm still limping a little from when someone and I had a little rope swing adventure and I was the one who hit the thorns," she joked playfully.

"Rope swing? Oh cool, where? Can you show me?" Realisation hit Tai. "Wait, do you mean the one near my treehouse where you kinda hit the pokeberry bush the other day?"

"That was a nice one. You should see my armory someday. Ya might get a bit more than that little thorn scratch." Tai half grinned, half grimaced. She hated not being allowed to carry weapons in school. "I feel nearly naked without a butterfly knife or nine. Speaking of things sharp and dangerous, do you know anyone I can practice combat skills with? Just hand to hand, I don't want to slice anyone up. Well, not a friend."

Luna edged discreetly away from Tai, not wanting anything 'sharp and dangerous' ripping apart her flesh. "How about Chloe? She put Raven in the hospital."

"What the?" Tai nearly swore in frustration? "I wasn't aware her psych issues were that bad! What did Chloe do? Tell her she was wasting space and oxygen on this planet?"
